A grateful attitude
Years back I used to complain about things I didn't have. Over time, I had to be realistic that my wants are unlimited. I had to learn to appreciate what I have.
Maintaining a grateful attitude is something we need to do consciously. Some days are so great, things go as expected and you feel on top of the world. However, everyday is not Christmas thus some days don’t go as planned and you do not feel motivated. Just try and be thankful irrespective of how you feel.
Another thing that can help you is to keep a gratitude journal. Last year July, I stumbled on an article online about keeping a gratitude journal. I decided to give it a try and this has been really helpful. I think its very important because it is so easy to focus on what we don’t have and take our wonderful blessings for granted.
What are the things to say thank you for?
1. Life- Only the living can complain
2. Salvation
3. Significant others
4. Good health
5. Basic necessities of life (water, food and shelter)
6. Family and friends
7. Ability to remember things
8. Daily routines
9. Setbacks that have made me stronger
10. Going out and coming in
