Goal Setting with a difference

We have two choices in life. We can make a living or decide to make a life. To do the latter, one of the most important things to is to set goals.
Goal setting helps you to take control of the direction of your life. It helps you define what you want and understand why you want it. It does not leave things to chance. Its important to make a conscious effort to be deliberate about your goals.
Here are simple steps to goal setting:
1. Let your goals motivate you- Set goals that relate to the high priorities in your life, believe it and write down why it is valuable and important to you.
2. Set SMART goals- Make sure they are SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time bound).
3. Write down your goals- Create a vision board which enables you to visualize your goals. A vision board comprises of pictures that motivate you. For example, you want to lose weight, place a picture of when you were slimmer or a picture of someone with the body size you aim for.
4. Plan the steps to achieve the goal- Write down how you intend to achieve your goal. Cross them out as you complete each step.
5. Be consistent - Build in reminders to keep yourself on track.
6. Always review your goal – You need to revisit your goal from time to time.
